Pilgrim’s Mirror Case Box
I made my first box from a tiny fragment found by a detectorist: the remains of a mediaeval pilgrim's mirror case. These were small, hinged boxes, highly polished inside the lid which, when opened, would capture a reflection of the shrine. Then it was closed and carried home as a talisman.
Other boxes followed and have allowed me freedom to use materials sometimes too awkward for jewellery.
