Each silver leaf is made individually – when a small piece of silver or gold is heated it will form a ball – we stuck silver balls, of slightly differing sizes, to masking tape and put them through a rolling mill (think of a mangle with steel rollers and a huge amount more pressure). After that we used a swage block to slightly curve and twist the leaf. This is what gives the necklace its sense of being alive and animate. The golden seeds are formed of gold balls fused together.
