Agate can be an extraordinary semiprecious stone. These flat slices are sometimes called ‘dendritic’ and sometimes ‘picture’. They can resemble Chinese landscape painting or ferns or in this case an impressionistic representation of roses. I haven't seen another one quite like this and wanted to frame it to bring out its specialness. I have used a mixture of rough and faceted diamonds of different colours to complement the agate.

The box is made in the traditional way using flat silver sheet to form the box. The agate is mounted like a stone in a ring and surrounded by a fringe of diamonds which are secured with 18 carat gold wire.
